Josh Peterson aka Jo-sh
I’m Josh Peterson. I work with mid size IT solution providers around the country and around the world helping them become more profitable. I love what I do for a living and I have been fortunate to be involved with some amazing companies. I’ve been with the Taylor Business Group for many many years and can’t imagine doing anything else in the world.
Short Version about Josh Peterson
I am Josh Peterson, a management consultant and overland adventure enthusiast based in Chicago. (Here is a longer bio.) I use this space to periodically share some thoughts and recognize people and events that inspire me. If this site isn’t enough Josh for you, I also post to Twitter all day long.
Long Version about Josh Peterson
As an accomplished management consultant in the IT Service Provider space, trainer, and habitual entrepreneur, Josh works intimately with over 50 MSP’s on an ongoing basis. His focus with these businesses is to improve his client’s personal wealth and quality of life. He accomplishes this by working on the three disciplines of any IT company; Sales, Service, Administration.
For over 13 years Josh has devoted his career to learning everything he possibly can about the Managed Services and Solution Provider industry. He frequently speaks at industry events such as SMB Nation, Autotask Live Nation, and Tech Data’s TechSelect events.
Currently Josh works with the consulting firm, Taylor Business Group based in Kansas City. Josh’s clients range from VAR 500 size companies to start ups looking to break the $1,000,000 revenue milestone. He has worked with clients from Australia, Canada, and all over the United States. In addition to the direct consulting work with his portfolio of clients, Josh facilitates Business Improvement Groups in both the US and Australia, and provides industry specific training in the areas of ownership, sales, sales management, and service management.
Josh is a graduate of SUNY Buffalo where he received a Bachelor in Biology and Secondary Education. He went on to graduate from Canisius with an MBA focusing on marketing and group dynamics.
A fanatical Ayn Rand student, Josh follows the principles of objectivism, personal accountability and rational egoism. Josh tries to impart those concepts into his consulting and personal life by setting high standards for his clients, their employees, and himself.
Up until its final events you would find Josh participating in Pallotta Team Works events as a rider and support staff around the country. Josh was inspired by Dan Pallotta’s incredibly successful AIDS Rides. These events raised more money for AIDS research, care, and education than all other AIDS related organizations combined.
When not working with his clients you’ll find Josh getting beat up by his boxing coach, behind the wheel of his Range Rover D-90, or trying to learn how to do anything new that crosses his path. Most recently Josh completed two overland driving trips to the Arctic Circle. The first trip found him having to turn around short of the Arctic Ocean by 200 miles. The second trip was completed in October of 2010 with success!
